Itinerary: 3 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Fes - Atlas Mountains - Ifrane - Azrou - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

    Around 8:00 am we will pick you up at your hotel/ riad in Fez. then begin our three-day journey through the Central Atlas Mountains from Fes to Marrakech. We will arrive in “Ifrane”, also referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco”, on the first leg of our journey, which is Fes – Merzouga desert – Marrakech. Enjoy the stunning view of Ifrane and Foresta from this location. Following that, we’ll make a stop at “Azrou” to see the monkeys in the forest of cedars (Barbary Macaque). We’ll have time to take pictures of monkeys by the side of the road. Three days of exclusive desert travel from Fes to Marrakech Proceed to “Midelt” city and have lunch at a neighborhood eatery (optional).

Later, after taking in the view of the Ziz Valley’s gorges, we will travel towards the Sahara Desert and cross the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass to arrive in the city of Errachidia. We will also have free time to capture special moments and photos in the expansive vistas of the “Ziz Valley”. We continue our drive via Tafilalte Oasis «Aoufous» & «Erfoud» (famous for its fossil museums and dates) to Merzouga Erg Chebbi. We’re going to a local fossil craft workshop.

Sahara Merzouga Desert

We’ll reach the Sahara Merzouga Desert two or three hours before dusk. Where one can relish an experience of a lifetime. Beginning with a camel ride through Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes to get to our real desert camp. The Camel Rides Adventure lasts for about 1:30 hours, with a break at the top of the dunes to take in the breathtaking sunset view, try your hand at sandboarding (optional), and snap some special pictures.

Following that, you’ll head to the camp, where you’ll be welcomed with at least a glass of tea and have some downtime until suppertime. Following dinner, you can take in the starry sky, shooting stars, bonfires, and traditional Berber music on the drums. You can also interact with nomads and exchange stories and cultures. Then retire to a private nomad tent in the desert for a night.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert - Erfoud - Tinjdad - Todra Valley - Dades Valley

       On our three-day itinerary from Fes to Marrakech the following day. You will rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise at Merzouga erg. Chebbi. After breakfast and a shower at the desert camp, we will take you back to Merzouga village by 4×4 or camel, depending on your preference. Afterwards, we will go to Rissani, where we will visit a fossil museum and explore the local market. Our 3-day journey from Fes to Marrakech then passes through several Arab and Berber villages, including Mellab, Tinjdad and Jourf, the latter known for its ancient irrigation system wells. We will take a detour to see this sight. Lunch will be served in Tinjdad or Mellab (optional).
The Todra Valley and the approximately 300-meter high canyons of the Todra Gorges will be the next point of interest. In addition, the force of water can pass naturally through the rocks. Hiking and climbing can be done in this gorge. Finally, we will reach the Dades Gorges, where we will stay in a riad for the second night of our trip.

Day 3: Dades Valley - Roses Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

    Our three-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech will conclude with breakfast overlooking the magnificent Dades Gorges. then proceed with our journey to Marrakech, passing through Skoura Oasis’s palm trees and Roses Valley. Our next destination is Ouarzazate, where we will pay a brief visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Numerous Hollywood film shoots, including “Lawrence of Arabia”, “Gladiator”, “Kingdom of Heaven”, “Prince of Persia”, and many more, have used it as a backdrop. The unique architecture and cultures of Morocco are reflected in the kasbahs, or fortresses. Following our exploration of the kasbah, we will travel a little further into the High Atlas mountains via the “Tichka pass” , arriving in Marrakech, the destination of our three-day tour that departs from Fes.
