Itinerary Of 5 Days Desert Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via Chefchaouen & Fes

Day 1: Casablanca airport, Chefchaouen

    A member of our team will meet you at the Casablanca airport, and we’ll travel to Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains, an open plateau crossed by many valleys and ravines. Once there, The breathtaking beauty of the city of Chefchaouen will amaze you. Where everything is set dramatically while gradually ascending the mountains. Activate the cameras! It is Morocco’s blue jewel. Spend the night in Chefchaouen with breakfast and bed.

Day 2: Chefchaouen, Fes

     We’ll leave your riad around eight in the morning after breakfast, and our local guide will take you to Fes to explore the oldest Moroccan Medina, which is said to have been around since the eighth century. You will tour the Medina’s meandering, narrow cobblestone lanes, where donkeys are the primary means of transportation. The oldest university in the world, the University of Al Karaouine, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the Nejjarine fountains, the renowned tanneries, the King’s Palace, the Jewish neighborhood, and the ceramics cooperative where you can view traditional Moroccan crafts are all included in this tour of the Medina’s historical sites. The journey concludes in the late evening. Bed and breakfast included for one night in Fes.

Day 3: Fes, Ifrane, Merzouga

     We will depart early in the morning and head toward the Sahara desert, stopping first in Ifrane, also referred to as Little Switzerland. Then, if we’re lucky, we’ll pass through the Cedar Forest and see monkeys. We’ll then travel to Midelt so you may have lunch there. Driving across the Middle Atlas Mountains and taking in the sights of the local nomads. We keep driving through the picturesque Ziz Valley, which is encircled by palm trees, pausing at viewpoints along the route. We will then proceed to the last station, the Sahara Desert. Dinner and breakfast included in the overnight stay in Merzouga. 

Day 4: Merzouga, Todgha Gorges, Dades valley

    Your camel guide will wake you up in the morning so you can see the breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes. This is regarded as one of the highlights of the trip. You will ride your camels back to the settlement of Merzouga after eating breakfast in the middle of the Saharan dunes. After that, we’ll begin our drive to the Dades Valley via the Gorges and Todghra Valley, stopping along the way to take photos of the Jewish-built kasbahs. Before continuing to the Dades Valley, you will get the opportunity to stroll through the breathtaking Todghra Gorges. Spend the night in Dades Valley with breakfast and dinner.

Day 5: Dades valley, Rose Valley, Ait-ben-Haddou Ksar, Marrakech

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Marrakech, passing once again through the Dades Valley, renowned for its beautiful rock formations and historic kasbahs, before continuing on to the Valley of Roses, which is harvested in April and is the home of damask roses. We will continue traveling and stop in Ouarzazate, also called the African Hollywood, to see the kasbah of Taourirt and tour the film studios.
We will then continue to the ksar of Ait ben Haddou, the largest ksar in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Scenes from such films as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and The Jewel of the Nile were filmed here. We then continue to Marrakech by crossing Morocco’s highest mountain, the Tichka Pass. We will reach Marrakech in the late afternoon.
